A Wonderful Wednesday!

Yesterday afternoon I went to the science museum. I had to go and see the history of health section for an assignment for my health psychology class and although the assignment isn’t due for a while, I thought I would be a diligent student and get on it early (you should be proud!). I also wanted an excuse to get out for a little while and just go do something new and different and fun (yes, going to a museum IS fun for me!). So while Bridget was in class I headed out to the museum, and it was fantastic! I went through the section I had to and then decided to go and explore a few more of the health sections. All of the information was just so interesting and engaging. I learned a lot and it was just a really enjoyable afternoon!

Later that night Bridget and I had tickets to go and see Chicago and we were both really excited about going to see the show.

The Cambridge Theatre!

So after getting dressed and ready to go we made our way to Covent Garden tube station. If you remember, this is the one with 193 stairs. As I was in heels and had been having asthma attacks for the past few days, we decided that stairs were NOT the way to go this time!

The sign for the stairs in the Covent Garden tube station!

So we got to the theatre and went to the Box Office to get the tickets that I had ordered. The guy looked them up, got them out and then said that he was going to upgrade our tickets. Instead of being in the way back of the Upper Circle (which were the cheapest tickets and therefore the ones Bridget and I decided on) he moved us to the front (row B) of the Dress Circle. I smiled, thanked him and then turned to Bridget and said “Did that really just happen?!!? I LOVE LONDON!” So we made our way to our seats and they were FANTASTIC! 16 & 17, right in the middle of the stage! I couldn’t have asked for better seats, truly!

Not a great pic (I was sneaking since photography was prohibited) but that was the stage, and we had GREAT seats!

Bridget and I being dorks while waiting for the show to start!

The show was fantastic! DEFINITELY held up to the name of “London’s Sexiest Musical!” The cast was fantastic, the singing was great, the set/staging was incredible, it was just AMAZING! The other thing I really liked was that the pit band was worked into the scenery/staging. Their seats were literally built into the stage and around where the actors and actresses were walking up the stairs from, etc. They were just dead center on the stage and so prominent and involved. The conductor had some lines and dialogue with some of the cast, and it was just great to see! He was also soooo into the music and excited about performing and it was just fantastic! I LOVED it!

So entirely thrilled about the performance, we headed back to Baker Street to find a hole in the wall (ATM) so we could get some money and eat because we were STARVING, had no money, and it was about 11:00 PM. As we came out of the tube station, we are debating (quite intensely) walking to the bank or just giving up and eating Doritos for dinner (since Bridget was cold and I was wearing heels) when this man comes up to me and says “Su cabello es muy bonito.” I had worn my hair down last night (I know…RARE occurrence and it had actually behaved!) and am always a bit more on edge anyway when I wear it down lol but I was so absorbed in conversation with Bridget that I almost didn’t hear anything more than bonito….so I hesitated and then said “gracias.” Once we walked away (a bit afraid that they were going to follow us since it was after 11 and they were just randomly hanging out outside of the tube station) I asked Bridget just to make sure, “did he say my hair was beautiful?” Bridget replied with “I think so, but his grammar was off…it should be bonita not bonito.” So after scrutinizing the grammar of this guy and getting to the hole in the wall which was BROKEN, we decided to borrow money from a friend, just order pizza (which we have ordered ENTIRELY too much since we have gotten here!) and call it a night.

It was a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!!!

I also got LOTS of cards in the mail today! It was FANTASTIC to get something from home and definitely made my day!!!

And now it is time for the weekend! We go to Stonehenge on Saturday so there will be more updates soon! Happy Valentine’s/Single’s Awareness (whatever you prefer to celebrate) Day!!! <3
