Yesterday Bridget and I headed up to Oxford Street in search of some books we needed for classes and ended up getting much, much more than we had bargained for. As we turned the corner to head toward Primark (FABULOUS store!!!) and where we thought H&M was, we were stopped by this young woman who asked us what our favorite type of makeup was. After I said “Almay and Cover Girl,” and Bridget answered “Almay and Clinique,” the woman asked if we had ever heard of MAC Cosmetics and how we felt about a full day of being pampered. Bridget and I looked at each other a bit skeptically as the woman explained that they were choosing 20 girls to come in and get complimentary wine or champagne, a facial, manicure, aromatherapy hand massage, makeover and hairstyling, and a magazine-style photo shoot, a total value of £600 for only £30 each! On top of it, if we chose to accept the deal we would have VIP access and have to pay NO COVER CHARGE to the top nightclubs in London for a full year!
After listening to a bit more of the information, Bridget and I looked at each other and decided that this sounded like an amazing deal. After all, we are 3500 miles away from home and at some point or another could most likely use this! And after all, my 21st birthday is coming up and what better way to celebrate then getting pampered for a day and then heading out to a club at night?!
So we jumped on the opportunity, got our receipt and special invitation and were back on our way to look for H&M.
Then we almost got run over by a bus. Not much a makeover could have done for that… =)
